December dawns!

December dawns pretty late in the morning, so I expect you’ve seen it happen. I was tempted to go out and take pictures to draw or paint later, but then I noticed the temperature!

Christmas Party/Social Wednesday 6th

Part of my aim was to produce something for our Christmas social. This starts at 7.30 on Wednesday evening, and takes place at the Dovetail Cafe. It’s for members only, so if you still haven’t joined and want to come, contact our membership secretary immediately!

It’s a fun evening of mince pies and other goodies, drinks and social chitchat.

As with last year, we have a friendly competition, with your artwork on one of the themes: Christmas, Rain & Reflections, or Snow. No need to frame or otherwise support it, as long as it will stand up on an invisi-easel.

From 8pm you will be invited to vote, using a slip of paper you will have been handed on arrival.

We will also be selling raffle tickets at £1 a ticket in aid of the Naomi House charity, so please bring some cash with you! The prize is a beautiful framed watercolour kindly donated by Phil Biggs.

Drop-in Session Wednesday 13th December

The only other event this month is our indefatigable drop-in art group on Wednesday morning at the Community Centre in Hursley Road.

Watch out for –

  • an invitation to our New Years Lunch
  • a questionnaire about HOS24

I hope you have a very enjoyable Christmas!
