Active Art

Workshops

We arrange for a professional artist to come and tutor a group for the day (9.30-3.30) usually on a Saturday. These ‘workshop’ days are very popular and sell out quickly. Members take priority for places, which are bookable in advance, but non-members can attend if there is space.

Life Drawing

Untutored life drawing sessions take place on a Sunday, once per month (except December) with an unclothed model in the large hall at the Dovetail Centre.  More experienced life drawing students will give assistance if required. There are no tables in the room, so artists should bring an easel or similar arrangement to work with. Members take priority for places, which are bookable in advance, but non-members can attend if there is space.

Drop-in sessions

We hold a monthly drop-in session to enable members to get together and exchange ideas. You can work on your own project in company with others.

Sketching/Pleine Air Group

We are in the process of working out the details for a sketching group. Our request for interest brought more than enough positive responses to suggest this will take off. It will probably operate in a similar way to the Drop-in Group. Watch this space (and the news section).
