Paul Berryman – 23 Nov (Zoom)

Figures and Life Drawing in Charcoal

This is a Zoom Demonstration, for members only. Details of how to connect will be sent by email in the week before the event.

Paul is an artist that describes himself as being addicted to drawing from life – both portraits and figure work. His weapon of choice for a live-sitting is almost always charcoal, and his enthusiasm for this simplest of mediums is something he’s really keen to share. He promises that you’ll come away thinking differently about the possibilities of using a piece of charred wood after the demonstration! He’ll take a journey through not only the different materials he uses, but ways to approach making life drawings ranging from the much hated 1 minute poses, through to a longer half hour piece.

Attendees are encouraged to share images of life-poses that they would like to see drawn with Paul’s approach and thinking shared as he draws them. A good resource for these may be found at https://line-of-action.com/practice-tools/figure-drawing
