Collage & Mixed Media

Helen provided the Group with a wonderful Pen and Wash Workshop in January 2023 and is back for February 2024 with a Mixed Media / Collage Workshop.

The workshop will give you the opportunity to explore and experiment with a variety of wet and dry media in conjunction with each other. It will also show how to create interesting results using collage. This can be paper from existing materials i.e., magazines, newspapers, tissue paper etc, or papers you have prepared yourself.

At the beginning of the session, Helen will show you how to prepare your own collage material that can be used for this purpose. Helen will bring visual resources of various topics so that you can choose what you would like to do.However, if you have any of your own, please don’t hesitate to bring these as well. You may have an existing drawing or painting that you feel you would like to develop further using other media. This will be an ideal workshop for you to do this.

Subjects can be represented in any way you choose, and mixed media/collage can be a detailed or simplified process which is why it makes it a creative and exciting way to portray your subject.
