A second planning meeting took place in May, and notes have been sent to all who have shown an interest.
A reminder: we are participating in Hampshire Open Studios with our own ‘studio’ set-up at the Dovetail Centre, from 20th to 28th August.
The idea is that each participant creates their own mini-studio, and does whatever they want with it (within reason). A chance to show your work, the way you work, demonstrate your technique, and talk to visitors about your work!

Places still available
Due to some cancellations, and to the extra days at the hall, we have spare tables on several dates. Please contact Alex Phillips as soon as you can if you would like to take another date, another table, or maybe your first step into the studio!
The Set-up
You will have a 6 feet x 2 feet table (1.83m x 0.6m) for your working art materials, as well as leave space to display some items of your finished art for visitor interest and sales. Behind your table will be a free-standing vertical display board on which to hang your canvases and framed art for exhibition and sale. The vertical board is 6ft wide x 4ft high (2m x 1.25m). Plenty of hanging ‘strings’ and hooks etc, will be available.
Table positions will be advised by 23rd July.
If you need to use power-sockets contact Alex by 30th June to confirm. Also, we require any electrical appliance being used during our open studio event to be currently PAT certified. Portable electrical equipment should be tested every 24 months.
Wrapping Table and Materials
Our Studio layout will include a table for wrapping. We hope to provide environmentally friendly paper bubble wrap which is made from biodegradable materials and 100% recyclable. Paper tape will also be provided. DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN WRAPPING MATERIALS
Opening time
The Studio will be open for visitors from 10 am to 4 pm.
Artists have access from 8.30 to set-up, and until 5 pm to take down. Studios can be left in place overnight, for those with consecutive days’ bookings. This is at your own risk, so remove any valuable items.
For more details, including labels, floor protection, sales and card readers, browsers and parking, please check the details from Alex.
Update 15 July
Don’t forget to collect brochures and Test Valley Art Trail map from Alex or Roy and spread them around your friends!
